Vanessa Ferreira

Vanessa Ferreira is a Prevention Education Specialist & Youth Coordinator at Join Together Northern Nevada (JTNN), a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing substance misuse in our community. JTNN serves the Washoe County Regional Behavioral Health Policy Board.

Vanessa utilizes her broad experience as an educator, organizer, manager and mentor to run large events, and coordinate effective data collection regarding substance abuse among schools and community partners. She has contributed and helped implement new ideas in support of this vital mission.

Vanessa also has extensive experience, including management, in the retail food business, including Whole Foods, Costco and McDonalds.

Vanessa was the first in her family to attend university, earning a B.S. in Public Health with a minor in Addiction Treatment Services at the University of Nevada, Reno.

“Every Mind Matters’ mission truly resonates with me. Removing financial burdens and other obstacles represent an opportunity that should be valued and cherished,” she told us. “I’ve seen some of those tough challenges first-hand; I am fortunate to have received help in my journey and I am excited to help Albee Aryel Fellows with their journeys.”

Her favorite activities include Rock Climbing, playing piano, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her dog.
